Here are a few tips and suggestions to help you make the most of your photos.

  • Set out 2-3 outfits the night before. Make sure they are clean and pressed if needed. You might want to bring a formal or business casual outfit, and one or two casual outfits. Outfits/layers that can be easily switched in public (e.g. in the back seat of a car) are preferred.
  • Avoid wearing solid white (unless you're a bride!), solid black, or anything with visible brand name logos or graphics/text on it.
  • Feel free to bring accessories to switch things up a bit (e.g. different shoes, a cardigan, earrings, hats, instruments, or other props).
  • Bring a bag to keep all of your sweaters, wallets, phones and accessories in. We will probably be walking around a bit.
  • Feel free to bring a blanket to sit on. I usually have one, but sometimes it’s nice to have one in a colour that you like.
  • Tidy your hair up in whatever way you prefer. Ladies, it helps if you hairspray the loose hairs down and keep extra bobby pins on hand for those stubborn ones!
  • Men, please shave/trim facial hair.
  • Ladies, even if you don’t normally wear makeup, it's helpful if you apply a little bit of concealer and powder to cover blemishes and reduce shine.
  • Clean your glasses or wear contacts.
  • Brush your teeth. Let's get those pearly whites looking their best!
  • Clean your nails and moisturize your hands. This may sound odd, but there's a good chance your hands will make it into some of the photos. If you use nail polish, put a fresh coat on before our session.
